Character History and Other information...
I was born a blind girl. Could never see a thing. Thankfully my family – the wise and influential Be Fongs (can you hear the sarcasm?) – were earth elementalists, so I quickly learnt to ‘see’.
I had a sheltered childhood. All I wanted was to break out and prove to the world that a: I existed (my parents had hidden my existence from the village we lived in) and b: I wasn’t the helpless blind girl my father had always thought me to be.
So when I got my Hogwarts letter I was ecstatic. At first I tried to keep my blindness secret, but after a while (when I got to my first class and was asked to read a passage) I realised that it was unwise, and soon word was out. Naturally I encouraged anyone who believed a blind girl didn’t belong at Hogwarts to fight me – I won each time either times in a row until they learned.
So yes, I am a blind girl at Hogwarts. But hey, Bei Fongs were never destined to be normal, mother said.
